I seek a Linux-capable USB modem stick to work with Kubuntu 12.04 on my laptop. I have opened a mobile broadband account with Iprimus and they have sent me a HUAWEI Mobile Connect Model E160E HSDPA USB stick which works well with Windows and for a while did so also with Linux. But it now no longer does and from asking around I have gathered that this particular stick can be temperamental.
I gave up trying to have my laptop's wireless card work properly, same for the wireless USB stick I bought without looking into it (both work with rtl drivers such as 8192cu, which no longer compile on my Ubuntu 13.10, anyways...)
I was wondering if anyone had a recommandation of a fine USB wireless stick that I could buy?
I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04. I am having a hard time connecting to the internet using my Sun Broadband Wireless. I installed the 64 bit version. I am from the Philippines. When I plug in my USB stick, it does not show up on the Network Manager/ no new connection can be detected.
I am trying to get my UK T-mobile Mobile Broadband ZTE usb stick 120 to work but am getting no joy at all has anyone got some info to install this and get it to work i am using the 64bit version of Ubuntu.
Computer: HP Compac nx 9020. running ubuntu 11.04 . Detects wireless USB stick when connected before booting the computer. If USB stick is connected when computer is running the stick is not detected. What shall I do to get the computer to detect the wireless USB stick when the computer is running.
Wired connection (ADSL) is working perfectly with my ubuntu. Huawei usb stick works well with Windows Vista but not with my ubuntu. I have installed the latest version of the usb-modeswitch. Ubuntu recognizes the usb stick but connection to internet is missing.
