http://forums.fedoraforum.org – need help installing 2 new 1 gb sata drive in fedora. I added the drives and created raid 1 in the card menu. but fedora shows both drives as sdb and sdc not as one drive. not sure if this is supposed to be like that, or do I need to do anything in fedora to set them up as hardware raid. I am not very proficient in fedora so I appreciate all the help that I can get. here is the output fdisk -l Disk /dev/sda: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x0005f351 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 1 127 1020096 83 Linux /dev/sda2 128 1402 10241437+ 83 Linux /dev/sda3 1403 1657 2048287+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/sda4 1658 60801 475074180 5 Extended /dev/sda5 1658 5305 29302528+ 83 Linux /dev/sda6 5306 8953 29302528+ 83 Linux /dev/sda7 8954 12601 29302528+ 83 Linux /dev/sda8 12602 60801 387166468+ 83 Linux Disk /dev/sdb: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x00000000 Disk /dev/sdb doesn't contain a valid partition table Disk /dev/sdc: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x00000000 Disk /dev/sdc doesn't contain a valid partition table thanks (HowTos)
