Hands on: Lenovo K860 smartphone

After reporting a record-breaking quarter for profits, Lenovo isn’t ready to slow down anytime soon. Today, the Chinese company officially unveiled the K860 LePhone, a slightly-bulky powerhouse of a device. The newest iteration in the LePhone lineup brings a quad-core Exynos 4412 processor, a Mali-400MP GPU, 1GB of RAM and a 5-inch (1280 x 720) display.

Japanese blog Blog of Mobile has discovered some information and photos of a new Lenovo phone working its way through the Chinese regulatory process. The phone is identified as a “K860” and appears to be on the way to being deployed as the Lenovo LePhone. Specifications for the Lenovo unit suggest it will be based on a quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 cpu running at 1.4 GHz.

The 4.7 inch display bearing handset has 1.2 GHz quad core processor and Android 4.1.

Because I recently bought the Lenovo K860 and am waiting to receive it, I did some research on how to root it. I found some steps on a Chinese website.

What I understand form it is you have to do the following steps to root:

- Set the phone to USB debugging in the settings - Make sure drivers are installed and the phone is recognized well by the default phone PC software - Close all the P

Samsung's Galaxy S III Android smartphone will hit shelves with a super-fast processor, a ceramic case and 4G LTE compatibility, according to a recent report. The Android smartphone will run on Ice Cream Sandwich and come with a 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, the report states. The phone's 4.8-inch full HD screen will feature 1080p resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio display.

We’re only a few days away from Unpacked and the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100). We are expecting it to sport a 5.5-inch display and a quad-core processor.  A newspaper in Seoul confirmed that the Note 2 will indeed have a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED display and a 1.4GHz quad core Exynos 4412 processor. What about the camera?

Following Sharp and HTC, Lenovo also joins the band with a 5 inch 1080p resolution display based Android smartphone.

Samsung has begun testing the Cortex-A15 based quad-core Exynos 5440 mobile processor.

The smartphone comes with 5 inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM and 2100 mAH battery.
