Handle HTML form with PHP

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hi I am a newbie with PHP, and I was trying to handle an HTML Login form, when I click submit, the POST request is sent (I check with Firebug, and also in Apache access.log file), but I can't retrieve the form variables (username and password, eg: $username = _POST['username']). After searching forums, I noticed that there is a variable in php.ini: track_vars that must be enabled in order to have variable stored in POST superglobal. By default, it was not present in php.ini file, I added it and then reload apache2, but in phpinfo() it does not appear, I also added it in /etc/apache2/mods-enabl (HowTos)
