Handcent Individual Contacts not holding custom ringtones

http://forums.androidcentral.com – Ok, odd problem and I am not sure if this is the best place to ask. Handcent started playing the "Droid" ringtone as its default the other day. I didnt change it. I set it back to custom and it is fine. BUT - now all custom contacts that I had individual ringtones for, or even ones I didnt have custom tones for ring as "Droid" and not the handcent default. System default is also set to this custom tone. I havent tried deleting and seeing what happens yet with new incoming But I really needed custom tones because I get 911 texts for emergency dispatch and have s (HowTos)

I've search and tried everything and nothing works to "reset" my contact from custom ringtone back to following the default ringtone profile.

Tried setting the ringtone to match the default but it still list it as a custom.

Does anyone have a solution for this or successfully changed a contact to a custom ringtone then back to "default"?

Is there a way to set individual text notification tones on the stock Messenger program? I know how to change the notification sound in the settings but I would like set specific tones for different people. I had handcent on my EVO 4G but when I downloaded it on my Galaxy Note II I couldn't get my contact's pictures to show up.

I am coming from Blackberry to Android and one thing I am missing badly in my Samsung S Vibrant is there is no option to assign separate notification tones (for email, sms) to individual contacts. There is option for distinct ring tones (that works for incoming calls from the contacts) but I couldn't find a way to have separate notification tone for individual contacs.

I put a custom tone then i took it off now it wont play no other tones at all . How can i fix that o ya could it be the custom rom?

I have recently noticed that my custom ringtones some how reset back to the default ringtone. Is this a common issue or could it be because I use a different launcher. Go Launcher to be exact.

Hi all, for the past few weeks I've been having some problems with ringtones and notification tones that I use. I've assigned individual ringtones to several contacts, and have also got separate notification tones for email and sms messages. Every few days these get put back to default and I can't work out what's causing it, it even happened to a playlist that I created, which got deleted.
