http://ubuntuguide.net – There’re several GUI tools for configuring the Launcher appearance in Unity 3D. But for Unity 2D, it’s kinda difficult. This tutorial shows how to change the Launcher back-color and transparency by a little change on the code. NOTE: YOU MUST KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO BEFORE First, make a backup of /usr/share/unity-2d/launcher/Launcher.qml. I'm interested in customising the Unity Launcher, so is there a way to change the appearance of it? Could the launcher be completely flat and simple, without the somehow glossy shine and 3D-button-like look.

A utility for organizing related items for easy launching from the Unity launcher. Drawers creates a launcher favorite for the Unity launcher panel that can contain any combination of files, applications, web links or directories. Just drop a file on the launcher or open drawer and it will be added. Left-clicking the launcher "opens a drawer" with an icon view of each item for launching.

When autohide is toggled on, the unity launcher won't show up unless I press the super key. This problem is present in Unity and Unity 2D. The launcher worked properly before but for some reason it isn't working as it should any longer.
