Hi,
Recently my machine has started doing some strange things. If I try and load a Jpg or Png in Gwenview I get a strange error "QImageIOPlugins not found". The files are where they should be and if I use Dolphins preview function or Digikam Editor the picture show correctly.
So this is going to be one of those "is this even possible?" questions. I need to upgrade a piece of my KDE from 4.8.5 to 4.9. Specifically, I need to upgrade Gwenview from the 2.85 version in KDE 4.8.5 to 2.9 version in KDE 4.9. It seems trivial but it's actually a fairly big deal for me. I recently upgraded my Ubuntu to 12.04, and that upgraded my Gwenview to 2.8x.
Gwenview is the default image viewer for the KDE desktop. Out of the box it's good looking but nothing obviously exceptional. Except for two things: Phonon and plugins. That combination really does make Gwenview a pretty useful bit of kit. Let's see what it can do.Category: End usersLicense: GPL
Hi All,
I expect other people have experience this, and I expect it is a KDE4 bug at this point, rather than a distro-specific bug (since I have experienced it in other kde4 distros as well).
Specifically, when I use Gwenview in fullscreen mode (which is beautiful, by the way) the screen seems to flicker once or twice a short moment after switching to a new photo.
Hi,
When I play video with Gwenview 2.8.5 on Kubuntu 12.04, the date is printed on screen.
How can I remove this ?
Here a screencap :
Thanks
Hrm... no ideas? For what it's worth, Gwenview plays AVI files with no problem, and VLC plays MTS files with no problem.

Gwenview is not showing video thumbnails since I've upgraded (via fresh install) to F17. I found an old bug report about it, but it's supposed to be fixed in the current version that ships with F17. Is anyone else seeing (or is that not seeing ..lol..) this problem?
I am running Slackware 13.0, which was running perfectly fine until some time ago. Recently i started facing problems with some apps which take more than 5 minutes to open, and when opened, respond ultra slow. This behaviour i've seen in Dolphin and Gwenview yet, both being some of the frequent apps i use on my system.
