I have a rooted Defy+, from which I already removed all the cruft I don't need. I am mostly happy with the phone, but there are a few quirks which are making me consider changing to a custom ROM to get a more recent Android version (rather than Gingerbread, 2.3.6).
However, I am concerned about the drawbacks of doing so.
How To Update Galaxy S Advance I9070 to Android 4.2 Jellybean [Ultimate Guide] Google always delays it latest firmware updates, which in our case is Jelly Bean 4.2, to get on to other Android devices apart from its own Nexus.
Hello everybody,
I'm using Android for a good 2 years now, I love the options you get with custom roms and custom kernels.
But lately I've been unsatisfied with many roms and I would like to learn how to build my own.
I already installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my laptop specifically for the building of custom roms.
So far so good, but from here I need your guidance.
This is what I'd like to do:
-select
Can someone compare and contrast the different ROMs that are available?
Also, are there any ROMs that actually update the phone to a newer version of Andriod... or are they all based on the version of Android and the stock rom images?
Hi guys,
This is for people on Docomo network using Galaxy Nexus. One thing I noticed after installing custom roms, is that push mail on the stupid SP-Mode app no longer works. Being as this is the only app you can apparently use for Docomo's mail, it is a bit of a roadblock. After digging around a bunch on Japanese forums, I finally found out what you need to do to make it work.
Another brainstorming useful creation for each and every Android users in the world.
Hello all,
I'm still pretty new to trying to mod phones and so far I'm enjoying myself with some of the custom roms you guys have linked on the site. (Thanks for the hard work)
My main question is concerning Android 4.0+ on the Connect. Many of the custom roms I've seen are stock variants (or at least I think).

I am anxious to try to improve the performance of my TF700 by installing a custom ROM. It just occurred to me that I should ask if using my keyboard dock will have any problems with custom ROMs. Can someone recommend Jelly Bean (4.1.x or 4.2) ROMs that won't prevent use of the dock? Also, if I start using custom ROMs, how hard is it to revert back to the stock Asus ROM?
