http://androidforums.com – SInce upgrading to JB, I have noticed that the stock messaging app has been EATING battery for no obvious reason. I hardly text, maybe 10-15 a day. Here is a screen shot from through out the day. I have sent 2 messages the entire day at this point. I pulled this off the charger this morning at 5:30AM with 100% charge. There is no way messaging should be taking almost as much as the screen. On ICS, this would be around the 2-4% range for the entire day. Any suggestions? I tried Jelly Belly to see if the group messaging worked, but no dice. I can send to a group of iphone users but when I receive the messages they just come in the individual threads. Is group messaging working / figured out yet? If so, is there an apk floating around to download? Thanks!

Quick question: Girlfriend uses a GS3, loves the lock screen notifications for texts and such, dislikes being unable to do group SMS messaging (iPhone style; she came from a 4S). I stepped in, helped setup GO SMS and now the group messaging works (well enough, anyways), however, now there is no notification badge for texts.

Hi there! If anyone can help I'll be suuuuuuper grateful.

Yesterday evening, my phone ran out of battery. When I turned it on again I tried to send a text message but I couldn't open the messaging application. So when I pressed the message icon on the home screen, it went black and then returned to the home screen.

Hi all. I have a question, if i were to replace the stock metro PCS messaging app with the ICS Messaging from the market will it still work. Like if i flash it as the primary messaging app. I want to use that instead of the stock app. Thanks!

Hi folks

Stock SGY unrooted.

On the home-screen there is a bar at the bottom on which four icons appear: dialer, contacts, messaging and application launcher.

For no reason I can discern the "messaging" icon is no longer there.

When I'm just on WiFi alone (data toggle turned off), and then using the preinstalled native messaging app on this phone I can't send nor receive any text messages. It says I get an error code 64, class 2 Radio Interference Resource Shortage.

Messaging using facebook app is fine though. Is there anyway to fix this?

Im thinking of buying the nexus 4 and this might sound stupid but I was wondering in the text messaging is there a way to turn off those profile box images? (Ie just text reply bubbles like on iphone) I really dont like or want a picture on the messages each time. Fussy yes, but Ive tried to find out but cant find any screenshots on the internet without it.

Does anyone know if the One supports the Group Messaging option that is available on stock Android 4.2? I currently have a Nexus 4, which supports this in the stock Messaging app.
