GRUB/LILO Installed, But Still need Install DVD to Boot into os

http://forums.opensuse.org – After installing the openSUSE 11.3(GRUB/LILO) to my Triple Boot iMac, I cannot boot into Win 7 or openSUSE 11.3 with the boot loader rEFIt. I clicked on the selection, and an error message shows "no bootable device". I have to INSEART THE OPENSUSE 11.3 MEDIA, TO MAKE MY IMAC BOOT INTO WIN 7 OR OPENSUSE. not only my Triple boot iMac is like this, my Triple Boot MacBook Pro is also like this. So what went wrong? (Distributions)

I'm triple booting my iMac.

But after installing "GRUB/LILO", I stilll need to insert the "DVD" to boot into either Win 7 or opensuse 11.3

Why is my install of the GRUB/LILO boot loader not working?

i'm trying to make my imac capable of triple boot.

the software i use are:

mac os x 10.5.8 win vista sp1 linux opensuse 11.2 and, rEFIt GParted

i used the diskutility to create 6 partitions.

1st. is for the EFI 2nd. is for mac 3rd. is for linux 4th. is for windows

I run on an intel core 2 duo late 2009 imac 21.5"

I have rEFIt installed which changes boot camp (efi or w.e) to show a triple os boot, mac, windows, and linux.

I want to install to my WD Elements 2TB external HDD but it never works, i've been through some techniques in the installation to get it to work.

does anyone know that if i can boot from an external hard drive with "openSUSE" installed on it?

how about FireWire, will it work?

i'm trying to set up a triple boot for me newly bought iMac.

any suggestion would be apprecialted.

Thanks for any suggestions. HD1 - Vista/XP Pro HD2 - Opensuse(Primary) and a swap file as (Logical) Easybcd to handle the booting process. OPenSuse 11.2 Gnome edition

If I disconnect HD1 I can boot into Opensuse. With both drives connected I can boot into the 2 Windows OSes but not into OpenSuse.

I'm obviously doing something wrong.

Now that I've determined that it would be best to go ahead and do a fresh install of Fedora 16, I've decided I'm going to try a triple boot, like I have been wanting to do for a while now. I've done a dual boot with Windows and Ubuntu before.

i'm trying to make my imac triple boot(os x, opensuse, & windows vista).

but in the at most 4 partitions, swap partition cannot be mounted.

so i was heard that you need to "edit some files to make the a swap file mounted as the original swap partition"

I have triple booted Windows XP (195 GB)partition 0?
