GRUB: ELF sectors outside core

http://askubuntu.com – I just recently installed Xubuntu 12.04. Instantly after installing it I updated all my packages, however one package, grub-pc, failed to install. I'm not sure what caused it to fail, but here is the error: bui@bluefly:~$ sudo apt-get upgrade Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Hi guys.

I just installed a copy of Xubuntu 12.04 on my 40GB HDD. It installed fine, and now when I started it up I used apt to update the packages.

They all installed fine, however I seem to be having a problem updating the package grub-pc, as seen below:

I am getting this problem, I just newly installed Ubuntu

Hello! I'm trying to upgrade the packages that is showing as upgradable, but I keep getting an error.

I upgraded an 11.10 box to 12.04 yesterday. This morning I tried to run an apt-get upgrade and encountered the following:

Upgrade from 11.10 failed 42 weeks 4 days ago

I attempted to update my system from Ubuntu 11.10 (GNU/Linux 3.0.0-12-generic-pae i686) with the do-release-upgrade command.

This has caused problems and I am left with this error:

root@ubuntu:~# apt-get -f install Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Correcting dependencies...

May somebody give me a tip about problem?

i am getting a broken count in synaptic and unable to fix it by running sudo apt-get -f install ... looking out for suggestions ..
