Hi All. ..Have already spent hours trying to figure this out. Basically, here's what I'm seeing:
(F16-PAE, 32 bit; GeForce GT 430)
Code:
[root@Rock /]# system-config-services
Illegal instruction
[root@Rock /]# system-config-firewall
Illegal instruction
[root@Rock /]# system-config-samba
Illegal instruction
[root@Rock /]#
And cannot open them with the graphical prompts either.
When I installed F11 it didn't have the i810 driver so it defaulted to VESA. I upgraded to F12 using preupgrade and thought it would re-detect the graphical hardware and didn't. I want to recreate xorg.conf for my computer (Toshiba Satellite A45-S25) so I can use Compiz and some 3D application but I can't find system-config-display.
I have Fedora 17, KDE. I open Printer Configuration and choose New Printer. I a CUPS server error, "There was an error during the CUPS operation: ' cups-authorization-canceled'. The printer is plugged in.
I previously added a Photosmart-C2400 sucessfully.
Hello,
I just did install FC11 with a Nvidia GeForce GT 220 which has not been recognized, so I had to install it with 'xdriver=vesa". I tried later on to configure it with system-config-display. Error message :

I've banned package kit from my installation because it behaves badly but yum won't allow system-config-printer to be installed without gnome-package kit. Is that expected, it seems crazy that
system-config-printer needs package kit ?

Now I want to install some graphical interface to it and use my VPS in graphical mode from my PC.

I had Ubuntu up and running very well. I then decided to update to 12.10 and the upgrade process seemed to go through very well too. When I started the computer again, all I got with a Terminal login: The only message, which appeared on the screen was: "Ubuntu quantal (development branch) ubuntu tty1. ubuntu login:"
How can I start the system in the graphical mode?
