All of the buzz last summer about the Google Nexus 7 brought a double-edged sword with it. On the plus side, it helped generate interest in tablet apps for the Android ecosystem. On the down side, it made apparent the softness of the tablet-optimized app market.
When Windows 8 Surface tablets launch this fall, maybe Microsoft should steal a page from the Google Nexus 7 tablet launch: Microsoft should sell Surface tablets mainly online and keep inventories low to ensure initial tablet shipments “sell out.” Here’s why.
Google’s 16GB Nexus tablet, which counters Amazon’s Kindle Fire, apparently is sold out.
I have some identical tablets that I'm trying to get set up for the kids for Christmas.
I did this following:
On tablet #1, I downloaded all of the apps that I wanted, then used Titanium Backup to make backups of all of those apps.
On tablet #2, I used Titanium Backup to "restore" all of those apps.
But if I go to Google Play logged in with the account for tablet #2, it doesn't show
Just got my Nexus 7 and love the thing, but some apps I have on my phone aren't available on my tablet not because of the tablet but because I'm currently in Afghanistan. Does anyone know a way around this? I will get the message not avialbe in your country when I try and download already purchased apps to my tablet.
Thanks
Sometimes, it can be difficult to find apps specifically for your Android tablet on the Play Store, especially if you’re browsing from the Play Store website.
Murmurs about Google's supposed plans to launch its own tablet soon are growing to a roar. Source code from Google and Samsung indicate that a Nexus tablet is in the works, Slashgear reported.
I'm having problems with certain apps on my 4.0.3 tablet.
(see here for my tablet)
I can download BBC iPlayer and media player but when I open them it says that iplayer cannot be accessed outside of the UK.
Well folks, it looks like we’re getting closer and closer to seeing Google’s Nexus tablet a reality. We were among the first to tell you that Google planned on introducing its tablet at Google I/O next week, but now we have some additional details adding to this excitement.
There has been a lot of speculation on a Google Nexus tablet over the last year or so, and things really started heating up this past week when news came out that Google is working on a 7-inch tablet to go head to head with the Amazon Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble Nook series. If this in fact true, the big question is who is making it?
