Google announced today that it’s bringing Google Play movies, TV shows and music to its Google TV platform, through an update that will allow users to rent or buy content through the included Google Play store on Google TV devices.
Google launched Google Play Magazines and TV shows in the US at Google I/O last week. Well, it looks like you folks across the pond won’t be getting access to these new services, or to Google Music, in time for the Nexus 7 launch. Currently, the UK has access to Apps, Books, and Movies.
One of the things I was pumped about regarding the purchase of my Android tablet was the ability to read magazines on it. I’m a huge magazine guy. I just thought the convenience and “cool factor” of reading a magazine on a tablet sounded inviting. Turns out that I simply liked the idea of magazines on a tablet.
Google appears to be in the process of rolling out an update to the Google Play Store app, taking it up to version 3.9.16. Several improvements have been included that should be apparent once users get their hands on the update and start using the Play Store.
Google has been trying to streamline their apps’ user interface to go along with the “cards” look we first saw in Google Now. Google Play Music and Play Books have already been updated over the past few days, and now Play Magazines follows with their new UI.
Google Play announced today that they will be implementing a new feature for Verizon Wireless customers. Verizon users will be able to select “Bill my Verizon Wireless account” when making purchases in Google Play to have the charges show up on their phone bill.

They have now collected information on schedules from around the world covering over 1 million stops.

I noticed that Google Play Magazine was syncing in BetterBatteryStats.
