For a bit of background, I am trying to install Chrome (or Chromium) on to a gentoo user account at my university.
If I try to run 'google-chrome' from CLI I get an error:
/opt/google/chrome/chrome: error while loading shared libraries: libudev.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Strange, as I ran it after install. But after a reboot it will no longer open.
I run '/opt/google/chrome/chrome' and read '/opt/google/chrome/chrome: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory' yet have '/usr/lib64/libpng12.so.0' (lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Aug 7 21:05 libpng12.so.0 -> /usr/lib64/libpng12.so). what is the problem? thanks.
I followed the guide at the following url: Cannot Install Google Chrome. How do I fix it?
Despite that I still have an error:
alex@ubuntu:~/Downloads$ sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb
Selecting previously unselected package google-chrome-stable.

Since the last few updates Google Chrome is busted.

root@ubuntu:~# google-chrome
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
if i try to uninstall from the software center, it simply hangs when i click on installed softare, i tried apt-get purge but with no success, what do you suggest?
Trying to install Google Chrome on my fresh Ubuntu 12.04 install. I have run a full apt-get upgrade and apt-get update on this system before installing Chrome. I downloaded the 32-bit deb package from www.chrome.com and opened it in Ubuntu Software Center.
