KitKat recently released a video showing a contest they held which involved winners sitting on a KitKat-branded bench at a certain time in order to win a Nexus 7. Great idea by the company, as they continue to do their part to market the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It’s a pretty simple concept, although the video may have overdone it a bit.
Android 4.4 KitKat update is now available for people who use the Google Play editions of HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4. They follow Motorola's Moto X, which first got access to Android 4.4 KitKat on Nov. 19 less than one month after Google revealed it.

Google just announced that both the 2012 and 2013 Nexus 7 tablets and the Nexus 10 are going to get KitKat starting today. Google doesn’t usually announce new updates so late in the day, so I would imagine devices will see the update during the night. In fact there are already reports that a few devices are receiving the update.
Sundar Pichai, Senior VP at Google, announced on his Google+ page earlier today that Android has surpassed 1 billion device activations. It’s quite the accomplishment, if not one of the greatest ever achieved by a mobile phone operating system.
Sundar also shared his pure joy of coming back from his trip to Asia and seeing the new KitKat statue on the front lawn of Google HQ.
