While I may not post much on Google+ I do use the app on a daily basis. It keeps me checked in to the various Android happenings (like TalkAndroid) out there as well as my close friends who only use that network. However the kicker is, while the app is useful it just feels there and not really too polished. But all that has changed as the new Google+ experience has hit Android.
Hulu Plus is the latest Android app to change its look to be more consistent with Google’s design standards. The update includes a slide-out navigation panel that allows for easy access to sections like TV, Movies, Kids, Originals, Latino & British, and a redesigned layout for shows that have multiple seasons.
On the Google Lat Long Blog, Google Maps Software Engineer Larry Powelson announced the addition of new mobile biking directions and navigation to the Google Maps for Android app. Ten countries have received new biking directions including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.
Gmail users might want to check out the mobile web version of the email service after Google announced an update to the interface today. The latest update introduces several design cues found in the iOS Gmail app to the web interface for mobile devices.
Google just introduced some nice enhancements to their mobile homepage. It now has the look of the Google+ and YouTube Android apps with an expandable menu to the left. This menu includes links to other Google services like Google+, Images, News, Gmail, etc. You can open this menu by tapping the new button at the top left corner.
Google has been sprucing up its Hangouts video calling service with an updated API for features like private messages, and the ability to block people and change a Hangout from private to public. A video celebrating Hangouts gives us a glimpse of even more changes that could be coming up ahead.
