My Stratosphere worked fine but in the last few days (maybe since the system update) My Gmail will not sync in the stock email app. It works fine on the Gmail app...
It keeps giving me a sync error and wont' let me delete emails in the gmail account of the stock email app that already exist.
Evolution on F17 is crashing here with a POP Gmail account.
I moved my Gmail account IMAP to POP a few weeks ago. Everything is archived at Gmail, so the way I use mail the POP vs IMAP differences are minimized. I have several accounts; all are forwarded to Gmail. POP keeps things simple.
I just set up Evolution via "Online Accounts" in Systems Setting.
Just wondering if anyone else has this issue....
As long as I`m on the mobile network, my Gmail doesn`t notify me of any new emails. I have downloaded updates for the gmail account, rebooted the phone, I made sure the Sync Gmail account is on, background data is on, sound is on, notification for every new email is on.... what am I missing????

One of my biggest beefs with Gmail on my Droid (rooted, running Cyanogenmod 6.1.2) is that I could never reply with an address other than my gmail account. I have several accounts tied to gmail, and with the web client, you can choose which account to reply with. In fact, Gmail does a good job of replying with the address the email was sent to.

Thunderbird can be configured to work seamlessly with Google's Gmail service. Messages are synchronized between your local version of Thunderbird and the web-based Gmail.
Configuring your Gmail account
To configure Thunderbird to work with Gmail, first enable IMAP on your Gmail account. See Gmail's instructions for help.
I use Google Apps to handle email for my personal website, so I have an email address username@ellipsix.net through that, and I also have a Gmail account username@gmail.com. Now, I've been trying to send emails to a particular recipient who shall be known as mail@example.com. When I send the email from my Gmail account with the @gmail.com address, it works fine.
On my HTC EVO 4G LTE phone, I was able to setup the HTC email app to treat my Gmail account as a ActiveSync Exchange account and push my email (i.e., it arrives immediately when received by the Google email servers). I used the server name of "m.google.com", user name of "myname@gmail.com", etc.
I have found similar threads to mine but with no resolution so I'm making my own with the hopes that there is some Android genius out there that can help me. I hope to simplify this as much as possible. I have a Samsung Galaxy S. When I first got my phone I added my gmail email account and it synced perfectly fine.
Hello,
I'm interested in getting an Android phone for the first time, but not very eager to use a GMail account. I have one, but I don't particularly like the interface, and I would much rather use my Yahoo!
