gnome shell: resize windows at active borders

view story
linux-howto

https://bbs.archlinux.org – In gnome shell, I can resize windows to fill one half of the screen size by dragging them at the respective border (left/right), as it's also possible e.g. in KDE. But in KDE, I can also resize the window to a quarter of the screen size by dragging them to near the upper or lower end of a screen border, which is really convenient to place two terminal windows above each other. Is there any way to get this working in gnome shell? I wouldn't mind if it were possible with shortcuts instead of active borders, I just want a convenient way to quickly arrange several windows (terminal/gvim). (HowTos)
