The GNOME version of Zenwalk 7.0 has now been released. It comes with the old school GNOME 2 desktop and several package changes compared to the standard Zenwalk, along with all of the GNOME packages of course. I just upgraded to 12.10 and GNOME shell won't load. I can log in gnome classic, but when I try to log in GNOME the screen just shows the background. If I try to press Alt-F1 or Alt-F2 nothing happens. I also tried reinstalling gnome-shell but nothing happens.

The next stable version of GNOME will be GNOME 2.30.2, which is due on
Gnome Cupertino, a theme designed for Gnome 3.6.x that tries to capture the feel and look of the Mac OS, has just reached version 2.0 Pre 2. Gnome Cupertino 2.0 Pre 2 is the first version of this theme running under the Gnome 3.6.x branch. More importantly, it doesn't use the adwaita-engine.
