I want to give Gnome-Shell the highest priority, but I couldn't change the priority on the System Monitor, an error messeage says: Can't change priority's process with pid 2841 to -5.
How does Priority Queue work. This is my scenario, I have certain objects with priorities 1,2,..10. There could be multiple objects with same priority. I was thinking I can put them into a priority queue and let the pool() give me the objects with highest priority.. ?
I m kinda confused with PQ.
1) I get errors when i create a PQ <MyClass>.
Hi,
I have recently installed Gnome shell and made some changes, mostly in Compiz but I guess my problem started after installing Compiz Fusion which I found out doesn't work with Gnome shell. There was the option to change desktop environments from Compiz to Metacity and the other way around. After playing around I realized that all of a sudden my mouse was quite slow.
sometimes my gnome shell gets a weird bug. What I need to do then is to click e.g Ctrl + Alt + F3 When I am there i can login and then
killall gnome-shell
Then I go back to the first Ctrl + Alt + F1 (what do you call them tty1, tty2, tty3 ...
Gnome 3.2 was released a few days back. With an improved shell and various other integrations, this shell will please many users.
I'm trying to get Compiz to work on GNOME 3.2. I sucessfully instlaled the compiz packages needed and logged out of GNOME shell and logged in with the option "Classic GNOME with Compiz"
I can get *some* compiz features working, however alot of the time when I enable/disable/change a plugin in compiz, it crashes, and I have to restart X to get my desktop back to a useable state.
I previously had gnome-shell installed, but removed it when I thought I'd stick with Unity. Now I've decided to give it another shot using some extensions, however I don't have the option for it when I log out and click the ubuntu logo to change DE. I have tried restarting to make sure it's nothing stupid like that.
I've installed the Gnome Shell in Ubuntu 12.04 and I want to change the "Shell Theme", But it doesn't allow me to do that.
The alert says something like:" The Gnome-Shell extension is not activated", and I want to install it with the console, But it returns me an error.
How can I solve this problem?
I was using F14 before this and completely forgot what I did back then to get Gnome in classic mode with a trashcan and all. Can anyone help and/or direct me to a guide to put Gnome 3 back in a classic state? I already ripped out gnome-shell and set my system settings to 'forced fallback mode' but I'm still missing a trashcan and can't put anything on the desktop. This is driving me crazy! Thanks!
