Today, Mark Shuttleworths blog was added into Planet Gnome after he made a request for it to be added. Why is this a controversy? Mainly because some people want blogs that are featured on Planet Gnome to be from authors that are active in the Gnome community and to actually blog about Gnome as a topic.
Okay, I saw this and it made me wonder.

Yes I know, people complain about GNOME 3 -- if you think this is just going to be like every other thread complaining that "GNOME 3 sucks", go away. This is my rant and I don't care what you think.
No for -my- rant. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE !!!
Hi,
Since january, i’m obviously too involved in projects, scouting, work and life in general. I couldn’t allocate time for GNOME scan, only the minimal for git migration. Today i migrated GNOME scan to vala master. I can’t predicate 0.8 release. I’m managing my involvements to reduce the amount of work needed. GNOME scan will be a winner in the long term. I’m attached to GNOME scan, i just need to be less involved.
Anyway, contributions are welcome
Best regards,
Étienne.
GNOME 3.0 will be released in September 2010, and in the meantime, we
will release GNOME 2.30 in March 2010, continuing our long-standing
tradition of six-months releases.
Thanks to the input from the community, we were able to draw a clear
picture of where we stand today and where we will be next March.
hello,
