Ruby on Rails: Multiple vulnerabilities
On my main dev computer, I had had ruby installed from a ppa. I decided to reinstall it with rvm for consistency between computers. To uninstall my current environment, I ran sudo apt-get remove --purge ruby ruby-1.9 ruby-1.9-dev.
I'm inside of the terminal right now and just about to make a new application.
I have RVM installed with Ruby 1.9.3 and Rails
$ rails -v
I am trying to start the rails server using either: 'rails server -d' or even just 'rails'
however I am getting the following error:
$ rails server -d
/home/lauren/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.3-p286/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.9.1/rubygems/custom_require.rb:55:in `require': libcrypto.so.1.0.0: cannot ope
I just switched from Heroku to Amazon Web Services. Previously I ran all of my Rails command line commands using my Command Prompt with Ruby (from my Windows PC).
I've been learning Ruby on my own for a while now and I want to use it for a Web project so Rails looks like the way to go, right?
Anyway... I'd like to know what texts other LQ denizens have used while learning Rails.
I'm on OpenSUSE 12.2 and have Ruby 1.9.2 (with irb 0.9.6) and Rails 3.2.12 in case that matters.
I am a php developer and I decided to learn ruby on rails.
I have a few question.
I have an ubuntu virtual machine with lamp.
It mean that it has alrweady php and when I access the ip of the machine from my browser it does load the index.php.
if I install ruby on rails will theere be collision between the php and ruby or the server just know that if I ask for ruby file or for php.
I'm following SaaS from edX and I'm trying to run my rails server that I created using
and it keeps throwing a load error for
undefined symbol: ruby_current_thread
I'm not quite sure what I can do to fix this, or what other info would be required to help me solve this.
