Irssi is perhaps the most popular irc client in the Linux world. However the default settings of Irssi are way too simple and complicated to new users. If you like the features of Irssi but need something that is more newbie-friendly, Weechat should be the first option for you to consider.
After few months I have tried to start irssi as a bouncer and after command /load PROXY i got following error:Irssi: Error loading module PROXY/core: /usr/lib/irssi/modules/libPROXY_core.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryIs there any problem within irssi package or its just me? I didnt find any separate irssi-proxy package.
Alright I am writing a shell script to open Irssi and then automatically connect to freenode. Should I edit the file at ~/.irssi/config or is there a way to simulate me typing /connect irc.freenode.net? I have used echo, send, and expect but it hasn't worked. Here is the code I have so far.
I was just wondering; Is it possible to run Irssi as a service? Or any other IRC-client for that matter.
I'm part of this tracker which has an idlerpg on IRC. Based on how long you are idle, you get credits.
