Hi All, I am a longtime reader, first time poster. I installed Statler 64bit last night and I am really loving it. Installed and ran like a dream, considering it is only alpha. The only problem I came across was the dreaded Skype. But through some perseverance, I managed to get it to work. So I thought I would post my solution here.
This is not about how to get 32bit applications to work on Arch linux. I don't have any problems with that. However, I've been trying to understand how certain applications know to look for their libs in /usr/lib32.I have to use firstclass for my job, and that is 32bit only.
I have Ubuntu 12.04 32bit. I'm looking for a new computer but the ones I'm looking at are 64bit. Can I use my current 32bit on it??
I'm asking because I have a saved disk image of the 32bit which has all my folders etc on it. I want to use this disk image, a 32bit, on a 64bit machine but will it work ok?

Dear friends,
I tried to find a solution but was not successful. Here is the problem: I apparently do not have 32bit libraries installed on F17 64bit version. And was not able to do so.
I have Ati HD 4300 graphics card meaning I need to use kernel 3.4 and 12.6 legacy proprietary drivers (otherwise the battery on the laptop drains twice as fast). All is working nicely.

Hi there,
mp3s are playing nicely, so does the test sound with Yast.
I copied some outputs which you might need to help me figure out whats wrong with my settings.
The motherboard has an onboard sound chip (which I do not use), and I am actively using the PCI sound card (Aureon 5.1, CM8738).
