Get your daily dose of Linux with Linux podcasts

Linux Mint (Ubuntu): I am looking for a reliable podcast reader that can check for new podcasts every like 5-10 minutes and can be loaded on boot. I have been using gPodder, but need to log into my account so that the application starts. In fact, I would not mind installing a linux media server that has the ability to read/download/check podcasts.

I am always on the look out for new classical music and as i started quite late i still have quite a number of classic operas and so on to listen to... But i was wondering if anyone had some favourite podcasts or websites that they really enjoy and would like to share.

I have been having a problem for a while with the excellent app PocketCasts, where I'll be listening to a podcast – streaming –*and out of nowhere it will stop playing, as if it were never playing in the first place.

This does not seem to have anything to do with my internet connection.

I subscribe to a lot of podcasts. Many of them, though, I only read the podcast description (saved in the metada of the mp3, I think) before deciding if I want to bother downloading that particular episode.

I use Rhythmbox's podcast feature, to automatically download new podcast episodes from feeds which I've subscribed to.
