Hi all,
I'm new to ubuntu and love it, and I've been experimenting with the Genie text editor. In general I think it's great but I've run into a problem saving remote files that I haven't been able to get around from forum searches.
Basically, I've mounted a remote directory through an SSH tunnel using sshfs and I am able to open/edit/save documents on the remote machine with gedit.
Vala, a programming language that aims to bring modern features to GNOME developers without imposing any additional runtime requirements and without using a different ABI compared to applications and libraries written in C, is now at version 0.17.7. The developers of Vala have slowly introduced a number of new features and quite a few changes in the course of the last few months.
Number Genie
Features include base conversions, prime number identifier and non-prime number factorization, math encyclopedia of common math constants, and the usual special number characteristics as told by our Number Genie.

In a latest update, Ubuntu 12.10 has introduced a new behavior where any window restored from minimized state uses a 'Genie' or 'Magic Lamp' style animation effect.
This animation effect is already available in Compiz, however it is now turned on by default.
As Ubuntu 12.10 is still in development, this may very well change in future.

I use Cairo-dock and I want to get that genie effect that Macs have but I can't seem to find the setting in Compiz. I've looked around online for help but everything seems to be for Ubuntu 9.04 to 10.10. Is there something specific I have to download? I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 32bit, just to let you know. Thanks for the help
