Just received my first droid phone the other day. I reset to factory, then downloaded all of the updates from Verizon. I later read that you shouldn't root the phone if you've done all of the updates through Verizon because it'll brick the phone.
I'm new to the lingo and using ROMS. I want to use this phone to learn though.
Thanks to everyone who have worked so hard putting together the phone rooting systems. I have a question that I hope can be answered by one of you. I just recently bought a Droid Razr HD (Verizon). This phone is running Jelly Bean out of the box, so the root method for ICS to JB probably won't work? Is there any new direct safe method available for this phone that I haven't run across?
Hi,
Long time lurker and now I need to ask a question.
Before Xmas I bought a Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 10.1 and when I got it, I downloaded 'Titanium backup * root' and it told me that my device was rooted (great). Unfortunately after a weeks or so the touchscreen froze and I had to send it back to the shop.
Hey guys, I'm new here and im really new to Android, i decided to switch over from apple because they are lame... I bought a samsung galaxy s3 AT&T 16gb, roughly 2 n a half weeks ago. I was looking at the OMEGA rom and i read that i had to be rooted first so i tried to root my phone and when i used odin, it said my phone was incompatible with the root file.
Verizon will be announcing the do nothing plan.
You pay more for less with a limited number of devices to choose from.
Verizon does nothing but set back and take your money.
I don't care what kind of phone you have, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence.
Ok, so obviously I'll un-root it and put everything stock on it using Odin (i'm good with that) but at the very beginning of all this, I read something about the "flash counter" and resetting that or something. I tried to do a search but the search option has been down for the past 20 min or something.
I have The Shift on verizon wireless. My question is the phone is not-rooted, if I root the phone will I lose verizon service, want to get the bloatware off (Nascar, twitter, facebook, all that crap) and hopefully add tethering. Thank you
I Double checked with HTC ITALY and If I send my phone rooted etc then I will not pass through warranty.. soo I need to restore my DHD back to "stock" with root / radio / eng and all stuff back to original settings (and normal rom again).
From what I gathered my steps would be:
1. flash using the HTC program the original rom from their website
2.
Ok, my phone was unlocked and rooted. I did the update for Verizon a while back. Lost root, but i'm not sure if I lost unlock. I'm getting a replacement from VZW and what makes me think that it is still unlocked is a padlock that is nearly locked but not all the way.
