I've seen so many threads here and at The Verge that I just don't understand. I've been using Android devices now for about two years and I've NEVER had a problem with battery life being worse than my iPhones. I have a 3GS and the battery on it dies after about 8-10 hours of moderate use. Meanwhile, I'm at 12 hours on my SGS3 and 50% battery.
my quad core s3 is a no-contract phone . uses pre-paid card. so there is no 3g/4g. i get around 4 hours screen on time with power saving mode on with juice defender on. i find that gaming time in this phone is awful. in the iphone 4, i get 5 hours 3d gaming time. now i dont even get 4 hours 2d gaming time! is this normal with the s3? but stll this is a fantastic phone.
So I've been this phone for about 3 weeks now. I love everything about it but the battery life sucks.. I've only used android since I bought my Note II. I caught up with how android works right now but I don't know what apps are draining my battery life. It used to run around 16 hours then it only lasted for 16 hours now. I charged it properly all the time.
Using the stock battery I obtained the following usage stats:
8% battery reamaining
6h 33m 20s on battery
Voice Calls: 34% use of battery
Voice Calls Detail: Time on 1h 9m 0s
By my calculations, this would put the phones entire talk time at: ~220 minutes (3.67) hours.
Per this review, they rated talk time at 8 hours and 20 minutes. Granted they said on 3g...
I just got my first Android phone and its a Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean. The first two days I was getting around 4-5 hours of battery life and then started reading up on this forum and did a bunch of suggested changes like turning off NFC, location services etc. Also, downloaded Juice Defender and now the battery life is around 7 hours.
First, here's the constants: I keep wifi/BT/GPS on 100% of the time. This was true when battery life was good, and now that battery life is bad. Disabling these will improve battery life, but will not fix my problem.
When the phone is sleeping overnight, I used to get 8-12% battery usage over about 8 hours.
No that is not a typo. Lenovo recently launched the P770, a new Android smartphone that boasts an incredible 644 hours (26 days!) of standby-time. The phone carries some junk in its trunk, sporting a hefty 3,500 mAh battery that bests the RAZR MAXX (HD) capacity by 200 mAh. Estimated talk time on the device is a little more humble, coming in at 29 hours of continual use.
Good day everyone!
I've been seeing some spectacular battery lives posted by some of the users here, and I was wondering, how does your SGS2 hold up against heavy usage?
I did a quick measurement of my usage today and found that my battery consumption was at ~1.5min/% while I was websurfing via 3G and listening to music while on the train.
Last week I upgraded from my Thunderbolt to the Maxx HD. Let me first say that so far I am really loving this phone. Especially the battery.
I have been off work this week and spent the last 4 days painting the exterior of my house. My phone was fully charged when I started and has had VERY LITTLE use over the past 4 days.
