As Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is taken up by more and more manufacturers on their new smartphones hitting the market in the near future, Samsung is in a bit of tight spot in trying to get their best-selling Samsung Galaxy S III updated to Jelly Bean.
Hey everyone,
I am not sure if this topic has already been covered in another part of this forum, I apologize if it has been and if I missed it.
I have an ATT version of Samsung Galaxy S3, and really would like to root the phone to upgrade to Jelly Bean.
Via their Open Source Release Center, Samsung has posted new updates to make open source files available for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, and AT&T Galaxy Note II devices. The listings indicate these are files for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on these devices.
Back in July, we reported that we should all expect Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to hit the Samsung Galaxy S III sometime in Q4. It looks like Samsung is very well on that track as a leaked version of a TouchWiz based Jelly Bean ROM (XADLG4) has been spotted running on a Galaxy S III (i9300).
Samsung is now updating its Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 tablets with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and new stylus functions through Samsung Premium Suite.
The update is for the Wi-Fi versions of the devices and finally brings Samsung's tablets current with Jelly Bean, after the company slowly rolled out Android 4.1 to its phones in the fall.

As I haven't got ICS 4.04 on O2 UK yet I'm wondering if they might skip and just go to Jellybean? Good news though... bring it on!

It looks like we should be getting the JB update sooner rather than later...

I recently switched from an iphone4 to a Samsung Galaxy S3 16gb and have been hearing great things about the new update Jelly Bean. I live in Canada and my carrier is TbayTel/Rogers, when can I expect to see this update? a co-worker of mine has a year old Samsung Nexus and he has Jelly Bean on his already.
