Recently I have been noticing that whenever I unlock the phone and go to the homescreen, I look at the WiFi connection icon in the notification bar and it almost always has some activity.
I'm not sure which process or app is using all of that data, but it would be nice to know.
hi just as title is saying. i have been able to use wifi but i can tell it is a good distance away but still quick. a friend said there is a hotspot or something down the street but not sure where it would be no businesses around right here. my card cant be that good. is there a way to tell if i am using a neighbors or a wifi hotspot?
'Just got off the phone with Virgin Mobile...VM's wifi hotspot plan is not available for the Kyocera Rise.
I hand-picked this device because of it's alleged hotspot capabilities. Just before purchasing from VM with my pay-lo phone balance, I made a phone call to VM to ask specifically if the Rise supported the hotspot plan, and was told it did.
First, I just want to say it's highway robbery to want to charge someone a second time to use the data they are already paying for - I mean what a rip.
One of the reasons I did not hesitate to buy the S2 is because it even mentioned Wifi Hotspot in the phone's features. I figured that meant it was free.
Anyway, long story short. How can one get free wifi hotspot with this phone??
I have an Eye-Fi card for my camera. i can set it up to offload images from my camera to my home PC over a WiFi hotspot.
So I can use it with built-in tethering, but it will relay all those pics over my mobile data plan- not ideal.
BUT I might be somewhere with WiFi Access.
I'm need to use my laptop (with lubuntu 12.04) as a WiFi hotspot.
I created the wifi hotspot via "Create new wireless network" from the network connections menu.
The hotspot comes up and then disconnects. I can see this on my Android phone and tablet.
Hello everyone,
First of all, I am new to this forum. I am planning to root my galaxy note 2 version 4.1.1
but I want to make sure rooting the right way.
is there a link that helps me rooting my note2 without any issue?
is there an app or a good way to get T-Mobile Free WiFi tethering (hotspot) without getting charge monthly after rooting?
Thanks in advance for helping.
Okay. I need a free app to turn my phone into a wifi hotspot. Sounds easy?? My Vibrant is running Android 2.1 so I don't have Google play, and my phone doesn't actually work through a company. I just use it on a wifi signal. My phone reaches the community wifi but my laptop doesn't! :/
