I've tried all of the free emoji keyboard apps from the Play Store and I really don't like them. I just stumbled upon this. It's a universal flashable zip file of the Android 4.2 keyboard that includes emoji (for all of us who like emoji w/Android).
Users of the ever-popular keyboard app, SwiftKey, are reporting problems after updating their devices to Android 4.2. For many users, the keyboard disappeared entirely from devices after installing the Android 4.2 update.
I'm trying out the Touchpad as an RDP client for my work Windows machine. With a Bluetooth keyboard and iTap RDP, it works very well, but one thing that's annoying is that Android/ICS traps certain key combinations instead of sending them through to Windows, e.g., ALT+TAB (Symbol+Tab on the HP Touchpad BT keyboard) and WIN+TAB (Home+Tab on the HP keyboard).
After the 4.3 update, there is a default keyboard popping up at lock screen.
Let me describe what I mean.
When you opened up your phone pre-4.3, it displayed the lock screen. With no keyboard or anything, just the information. Like the clock, your missed calls and such. When you tapped into the password field, the keyboard popped up. It was all buttery smooth, looked good, worked good.
I have both the Kii keyboard (very good btw) and Jelly Bean keyboard and neither of them are giving me predictions anymore. I press the space bar and the suggestion area at the top of the keyboard is blank. They both still correct words plus give options if I swipe they just aren't giving next word predictions.
