General Maintenance

http://crunchbang.org – You should be fine in my experience, although I have to say the longest I have gone without reinstalling a linux OS is 1 year.sudo apt-get autoremove will remove any redundant packages, and you can delete any old config files manually by looking at the hidden files in your home directory (use ctrl + h). These will just free up disk space, but there are no real maintenance tasks to do that are like defragging or registry cleaning (there is no linux registry). (HowTos)
