I used to access internet with my laptop in campus, which require proxy.
My internet at home do not require proxy -or rather I don't know any proxy setting since I always set browser setting to automatic. When I try to access internet at home with ubuntu it always try to access it with my campus proxy. I have no idea with to stop it.
Browsing is no problem.
There are many reasons why you might want to learn how to set up a proxy server in Ubuntu Linux to send your browser traffic through. Perhaps you are surfing on an unsecured wireless network, or maybe you don’t want the BOFH at work to see where you are going on the Internet.
Hi,
So, finally I seem to be able to add a proxy to my browser. That's great as it means whilst on campus at university, I can connect to the wifi.
I then come home, of course the browser still trying to connect through the proxy, can no longer connect.
So, that's my problem.
I set socks5 proxy system> preferences> network middleman to connect through wifi to a router with Firewall may have to unlock something? ping is normal, but if you want to connect to the site by the browser it shows the error:
Code:
Unable to connect to the proxy server.
A proxy server is a server that acts as an intermediary between your computer and other servers.
I have an apache virtual host running a reverse proxy accepting connections from the servers IP. To access, I'm running an SSH tunnel from localhost -> server, and pointing my browsers proxy settings at localhost:ssh-tunnel-port.
Occasionally (I don't have benchmarks) everything running through the proxy connection is slow.
My nexus was working fine for a week; I installed adblock plus which forced me to change the proxy settings - kept getting ads anyway, so I uninstalled the app. But now I can't connect to the internet at all - it keeps telling me that there is a proxy issue. I tried setting it back to the original setting (no proxy) but now the nexus won't let me have no proxy. So frustrating. Help?
hi,
I have a Fedora Guest vm in dhcp via bridged mode on a Windows Host also in dhcp.
We have a proxy.
My host receive address and can surf on Google with proxy configured.
But I can't join google with my guest vm.
There 2 ways to configure proxy on Fedora
- proxy settings from system
- proxy settings from internet browser (Firefox)
Each proxy settings mode does'nt work ( a
I'm using my laptop at school and at home, however internet access to each requires different proxy settings. I searched for a way do do this, but I couldn't find a solution, short of manually setting it.
So, how would I go about having my proxy set based on my current network?
I have three proxy servers in my college, all of them are connected to three different service providers. At different instant of time, different proxies give different speed (depending the number of users using that proxy at that instant of time). I feel that changing the proxy server configuration in browser(or at any other network appl.) at different instant of time are very time-consuming.
