I'm trying to stream music from a CIFS share hosted on a local FreeNAS server, other Windows based PCs will also be streaming music from this share.
I wanted to set up some playlists along with the music on my server that would be usable by all users on the network.

If you want to share you iTunes library with your family or maybe (for private use) in you office, you can set up a Linux server with mt-daap, it uses the DAAP protocol to share music within your network.

So making a Fedora18 web server. working well so far. Basically its website i can listen to music through the interface on the page. The music is stored on my share which i export via samba. This is due to the majority of my systems (at one point) being windows boxes.

Somehow this question pop up in my mind.
Samsung Galaxy S4 has NFC tech. and so does HTC One and Nokia Lumia 920 Windows.
I was wondering whether you can send photos, files from let's say the s4 to HTC or Windows phone via NFC
Can you bump 2 different phones together and share files via NFC???
I mean galaxy phones no problem but Samsung to HTC via Beam...
This is a work in progress and, as such, if you feel that there is anything that needs adding, please PM a guide or start a thread in Private Chat With Staff with your suggestions.
Many thanks :)

Is this possible or is there another player recommended for this or just some way to browse the network and play. Music is on a windows 7 machine.
