http://androidforums.com – so after reading and watching several videos for the past month since i got my Xperia Play R800i, i think im ready to root and try customizing/flashing Roms. phone model: Sony Xperia Play R800i Android Version: 2.3.4 Kernel version : 2.6.32.9-perfSEMCUser@SEMCHost#1 Build number: 4.0.2.A.0.42 from what is red in the forums latest build of SuperOneClick v2.3.3 works with my Android version and build number is .42 so i can root it using this. a little help on how to use it though might help, i saw videos but i want to also know what each of the other functions do, so im kinda ready but still (General)

i cant root my xperia play, i tried to root with ZergRush, flashtool and also superoneclick. All not working. i followed the instructions in http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1649368 but still could not root. When i use zergRush superuser is not installed.

I´m kinda noob in the world of custimizing android devices, my first device was a SGA so that was an easy one, but now I have a xperia arc s with the official 4.0.4 rom made by sony the build number is 4.1.B.0 and I want to root it but i can´t, I have tried the DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su.zip method but it failed i think because it requires the build no 4.1.

Howdy guys!

A friend of mine has an i9000 with GB installed on it and now he wants to root his phone. SuperOneClick and Z4Root didn't help. So, flashing a rooted kernel seems like an only option to me.
