http://androidforums.com – Hi all Slighly confused by the internal memory on the S2. I thought it had around 16GB of internal memory but when I checked...setting/storage/ it shows internal memory as Total Space =1.97Gb Apps 238MB Available as 1.70GB So this adds up to only around 3.9GB ???? Any ideas where the rest is..... Many thanks for your time Regards Mike (General)

Does the Optimus Slider have the same internal memory as the regular Optimus?

I currently have the optimus and the lack of internal memory is getting annoying. Does the Optimus slider have a better internal memory?

I have an LG -E405 phone running Android 2.3.6.

As can be seen here, the phone has 1GB internal memory and 384Mb RAM.

When I look at default App manager, this is what I get,

RAM - 231Mb System Memory - 157 Mb. Internal Memory - 378Mb. SD Card - 2Gb.

Also, all the applications I install, by default take up space from System memory.

So recently got a nexus 7 and i'm confused about internal memory and the cache in apps, here's what confuses me, internal memory says for example I've used 578 mbs, but when I empty a cache of an app instead of the amount of mb's I've used going down it goes up, is that right?

Hi, I have a weird problem with my S2 running samsung stock ICS 4.0.3. i have been using sgs2 for over a year now and whenever my free internal storage goes below 2.5GB i move the apps to SD card. But now No. of apps in SDcard has hit the Android limit so i simply delete the Apps. But off late that is not freeing up my internal memory.

Short story from last couple months. Gmail never updated. Sort of liked that. Then it was impacting work. Figured out it's an internal memory issue. I have had to remove any extraneous apps, widgets, etc. Still with memory problems... Most Google apps eat up a ton of memory. I moved everything possible to the SD card. Drive, Twitter, Music all eat up memory.

Below is an anomaly regarding the memory on my HTV Evo View on Dexters JB Rom.

When i go into Settings > Storage, the display on the side is divided into two vertical fields.

The top one says "Internal Storage" > Total Space 7.88 GB, Available 7.47 GB (I guess this is where the app files reside)

The bottom one again says "Internal Storage" > Total Space 19.80 GB, Av

So after researching a bit, I can't really figure out what "Device Memory" is. The one it shows when you go to Settings -> Application Manager.

I have a 16GB S2, and I have about 2GB overall in "Device Memory". Is it just out of that 16GB only 2GB are available for apps?

I have a "rooted" micromax A44, an mtk based phone loaded with gb. Yes, It hs very low internal memory (a mere 170mb dedicated for user apps nd its data). There are no roms nor a recovery available. So im at my wits end. I tried these to overcome the problem.

1. changed internal apps (system) into user ones using Titanium Backup and moved them to sd card.

I just received my 16Go S3 a few weeks ago, and I was very disapointed to see that we only have 11Go of free space, which is very small and even more for a 500€ device... I feel like Samsung just stole one third of my internal memory ...
