Walmart.com is having a pretty good deal on the Epic 4G Touch for $90. But is now a good time to buy into a sprint wimax phone for the next 2 years? Isn't 4g lte right around the corner?

i got so fed up with my epic 4g touch. ics upgrade turned a nice phone into a such a piece of garbage. i dont know what happened. i read all sorts of positive reviews when the European version got ics. i guess too many hands got involved and each carries had to tweek it to there system. and of course Sprint blamed it all on Samsung. Android is Google and Motorola.
As we’ve seen Samsung smartphones like the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S II Skyrocket get those Touchwiz-flavored ICS updates, it was only a matter of time before we saw additional devices which would be next in line for the coveted update. Such is the case for the Sprint variant of the Galaxy S II— you know: the Epic 4G Touch.
Most Android users know there is nothing better than a nice software update. For some, OTA updates are like Santa coming to your house, but with just one present. Luckily Sprint is rolling out small updates for both the Samsung Epic 4G Touch, and the ZTE Fury.
Starting off with the Epic 4G Touch, the software has been updated to version S:D710.10S.FI27 which carries a few fixes and bug tweaks.

I'm selling my OG Epic as I have no use for it anymore since I bought the Note 2. The phone is in perfect condition, not a scratch on it. It also come with an additional battery. I will also throw in a practically brand new Game Gripper too. Phone will come with all the OEM packaging and contents too. I loved this phone but couldn't take Sprints terrible service and was forced to move on.
I recently acquired a used Epic 4g Touch on Craigslist and am anxious to upgrade it to a ROM based on Android 4.2 or above (to be more consistent with my wife's 4.3 Galaxy Nexus and 4.2 tablet). My stock ROM is currently Android 4.1.2. I experimented with several, but have not been able to connect to WiFi or access 3g with any of them.
