General CPW branded handsets and ICS

http://androidforums.com – I know that nobody has been able to try this yet as Samsung's unbranded UK firmware hasn't yet been released, but does everybody think it will be safe for those of us with CPW branded (unlocked) handsets to install the unbranded UK firmware via Odin tomorrow? From what I can see, other than having "CPW" in the CSC there are no actual differences between CPW branded and unbranded firmwares anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong :) Clearly I will only do this if CPW doesn't release the update tomorrow too; which I think is almost certain. (General)

Samsung have stopped updating unlocked/unbranded phones first we now have to wait for all the locked/branded phones to be updated first..this was the only reason I got a phone on contract from car phone warehouse..it looks like we will get jellybean update some time in November

HTC is hard at work with updates to address certain bugs like intermittent WiFi disconnects for the HTC One X. They are pushing out update 1.29.401.7 to unbranded European One X’s right now. This is the second update since the release of the One X, so good job HTC. We are hearing this addresses the WiFI issue, but not sure what else.

I have an at&t branded unlocked sony play 4g phone and is there a way to install a unbranded gingerbread same version I guess thats currently install to get rid of at&t junk? Or do I even need to to all that do I just uninstall the software that they put on or what thanks?

I have a new Samsung Galaxy S3 which was shipped to the UK from China via Play.com. It's a unbranded phone on Pay As you Go the the three network in the UK. It came pre-installed with Jelly Bean 4.1.1.

Does anyone know if the 4.1.2 update is being released to sim free unlocked handsets as yet?

Won't boot after Odin'd stock 38 weeks 5 days ago

Hi guys, so I just bought an SIII and after a long and fruitful relationship with my SII, I decided to flash stock and sell the thing.

Unfortunately it won't boot. I was previously running ASNET MIUI on the thing, just downloaded a stock 4.0.3 firmware and flashed it, but it just doesn't go past the S logo on the boot animation.

Hi everybody! My Note II is coming for me tomorrow, from England to Brazil, it is sim-unlocked. But I have a (maybe a noob) doubt about updates - Via Kies or ODIN:

I am sure that the Big Baby Note II will receive the update to enable multi-windows coming directly from BTU - As the firmware I suppose will be BTU Unbranded.

But, after the update, it will still be sim-unlocked?

Hello people.:D Could someone point me to some firmware that is up-datable with kies and unbranded without vodafone intros and stuff. I did look around here and on sam mobile but cant find anything suitable. The phone itself came stock with csc LUX and a Luxembourg firmware I think. I'm looking for something Irish or open European. Hi sorry if this has already been covered but I have a friend who has the korean version s2 currently on 2.3.5 but wants to run unbranded international version of 4.0.4 on it mainly to get past the 90 character sms limit build in, among other things. I attempted to flash the latest unbranded version of 4.0.4 but odin crashes right as it is finishing flashing the factory image.
