Do you use your phone a lot on constant brightness? Does this drain battery or strain your eyes? Here's an application which will help you get accustomed to lower screen brightness.

Smart Screen reduces brightness gradually from two settings set by the user.
Hi - I want to lower the brightness of my computer screen - I am running 10.04.03LTS on an HP notebook - I lower the brightness as much as possible via system>preferences>power management but I need to make it darker. Also, every time I reboot the computer, the screen resets to 100 percent brightness - which is blinding - really, you have to see it to believe it.
I think I might have a software fix for the Nexus 7 screen flicker.
Screen flickers in low brightness and when using WiFi.
To solve this I am using an app called Screen Filter.

When I want to dim the screen I first turn the brightness UP and then use screen filter to lower it back to the level I actually want to use.
Hi
I've got a laptop with the Intel GMA 4500 chipset, and my Ubuntu system is using the i915 driver.
I've gone through a few different versions of Ubuntu, and other linux distro's, each one unable to control the brightness. This is obviously eating up my battery life, since the screen is at a constant 100% brightness, when I usually use about 35% brightness.
I have Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on a Toshiba Satellite M115 laptop. The brightness control doesn't seem to work with the "brightness and lock" setting or fn f6 and fn f7 (which usually works in Windows). How can I adjust the brightness and/or access different power settings, so my computer isn't running on full power all the time?
I use Ubuntu 12.04 on my Sony Vaio(VPCCW2HGX). At the first times, brightness control works well, but after the activating additional drivers(nvidia accelerated graphics driver) brightness control doesn't work. I searched this issue on so many Ubuntu and Linux forums, but solutions doesn't work.
If I flash CM10 as opposed to my stock android 4.1 jellybean, leaving all my brightness, wifi etc settings the same, will my battery life be extended? ie: is the drain while the phone is on lower?
I heard switching to CM10 over stock will basically for all users reduce drain thus increase battery life
can somebody share their CM10 setting for the display light control please.
i find that is it to bright when in a dark room, what setting should i change to lower the screen auto brightness ?
thanx
I have a new Samsung RV520 and have just installed Precise Pangolin 12.04 LTS.
I am having serious problems now with the wifi constantly disconnecting. This then causes the brightness control to appear on the screen. The screen starts flickering and then freezes the whole machine.
