Verizon has announced updates for both the Motorola DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX, bringing enhancements and bug fixes to both. The updates include new versions of Backup Assistant and Motorola’s Smartactions, as well as improved GPS reliability, increased stability, improved Bluetooth connectivity, SMS fixes, and support for VMware Horizon Mobile.
We heard they could be delayed, but it looks like everything is a go because Verizon just announced the DROID RAZR HD and the DROID RAZR HD MAXX will hit stores next Thursday, October 18. The DROID RAZR HD will cost $199 and the DROID RAZR HD MAXX will run you $299.
I have a dilemma, I am up for an upgrade and I have decide if the Droid Razr Maxx or the Droid Razr HD Maxx is worth the wait & extra money. I currently have a Droid Bionic so either will be a step up, but I am wondering if anyone has any ideas about this. The only real difference I can find is the pixel number, which is quite significant, but had anyone else heard anything?
Two days ago we reported that Verizon was sending out texts to the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX owners that an update to Ice Cream Sandwich was looming and just around the corner. And today, an ICS build running on the RAZR has leaked with the build number of 6.16.211.
Here’s some news that’s sure to make you owners of the Motorola DROID RAZR/RAZR MAXX smartphones unhappy. While we knew the Ice Cream Sandwich update was due any day now, there is a slight snafu which is causing a minor delay with updates being pushed out to devices.
The DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD launched on Verizon this past Thursday. We already did an initial hands on of the DROID RAZR HD and now it’s time for the bigger brother, the DROID RAZR MAXX HD. I say bigger brother, but I have to be honest, you can barely tell the difference between the two devices.
I got the DROID Razr Maxx HD in the mail the other day. So far I'm impressed with it coming from a DROID Razr. There is one thing about it that is really bad though, the camera. The camera on my OG DROID Razr is better. I've tried many different camera apps, none seem to fix the problems. When I zoom into a picture, the image gets grainy and loses detail quickly.
Motorola Android fans can rejoice as ICS has just gone live for the DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX. Judging from earlier leaks, this ICS/Motoblur fusion looks to be pretty darn cool. Anyone who wants this puppy right now can head to System Updates in Settings and enjoy some ICS goodness.

Out of curiosity I contacted Motorola about a jellybean update for the ntelos razr maxx. The only answer I really recieved was that only the verizon version has gotten or will get an ota of jellybean. They stated that any variant besides Verizon is stuck to ics 4.0.4. and will not have any future updates. Anybody know if this is true at all?
