Mozilla has launched an open source project to develop a web-based operating system for smartphones and tablets, somewhat similar to the idea behind the netbook-focused Chrome OS.
The VectorLinux distro does an impressive job of blending a traditional Linux environment with the performance of other more mainstream offerings. VectorLinux is not a newcomer to the Linux desktop world. Despite its more than 10 years in development, this distro is not as well known as other Linux choices. Its motto, however, goes a long way in highlighting its purpose.
Netrunner 12.12.1, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Kubuntu, featuring KDE as the default desktop environment, and integrating many GNOME/GTK+ programs to make it Ubuntu compatible, has been released on January 23.
Netrunner 12.12.1 comes with mostly updates, but some of them are quite important, as we can see below:

Not long ago, there was a survey about Linux distro on reddit and the result is very worth-noticing, Ubuntu is still the most favorite distro but Unity is the most hated desktop environment ( the second most hated DE is Gnome 3). And interesting enough, Gnome 2 is still the most favorite DE.
