This is the senario , i need to download a 4GB of single file at one shot, means if any interuption occured in the middle of the download , the entire file will be removed automatically. unfortunately i'm not able to download that file since my modem is going off during the low voltage period.

I'm having problems download anything using my normal phone signal. Can't download anything via browser or play store. can't even save an image. I can browse fine though. And everything is fine on my WiFi. I have full hsdpa signal 90% of the time so it's not that. The download pops up in the notification bar but doesn't start and eventually says unsuccessful. Any ideas? I've restarted.

Which do you prefer and why? I have a smartphone but I still carry my trusted rockboxed sansa fuze and kindle. I have a playstation vita but it stays home most of the time. I think I prefer things that do one thing but do it super well. Dedicated gps stays in the car so carrying that isn't an issue.

I am new to Ubuntu and Linux and and just starting to get to grips with security. Please see below a copy of my Auth log after a normal startup. I suppose I was slightly perturbed because it is rather full of "lightdm" stuff - Auth log spam? ;) - Can I just ignore this Lightdm stuff?
