http://forums.opensuse.org – Hi, I just installed Open SUSE 11.0 from a DVD onto an old Patriot laptop and was amazed- it worked! (I had previously failed installing Debian 5.0 because, I think, of incompatible architecture.) Anyway, after restarting and extracting the DVD it booted nicely until I discovered I couldn't get any updates, and recieve the error message as follows: kdesu(14797)/kdesu(kdelibs) KDESu::kdesuCLient::command:[ /usr/src/packages/BUILD/kdelibs.4.0.4/ kdesu/clienticpp:196] no reply from daemon It is not vital that I obtain updates because this laptop is only my 3rd computer for use in emergencies if my other 2 both fail at once. Also, because it is at least 10 years old and only has about 9 GB I am not sure if I want to fill all the available hard drive space up with lots of updates. I am however, interested as to what's gone wrong and if it can be rectified. (Distributions)
