Hi all..I am trying to connect to my freenx server (i have set up freenx before with ssh public key auth + passwd auth). Anyways i am having a weird issue. I connect using opennx and get the following error dialog:The remote proxy closed the connection while negotiating the session.

After following the instructions in the wiki, authentication keeps failing no matter what I do. Stuff I've done from the wiki:1. install freenx2. add RSAAuthentication yes AllowUsers someuser nx to sshd_config3. add md5sum to node.conf4.

I installed Ubuntu 11.04, installed FreeNX server and FreeNX client for Windows from http://www.nomachine.com/download-client-windows.php.

This thread (nxserver now broken?) has inspired me to install FreeNX and the client from nomachine on openSUSE-11.2 (this is the version used on both, server and client machine). The good news is: basically it works. I can connect and get the desktop.

However, I have some trouble with the keyboard. Up and Down arrow keys do not work. The up arrow triggers a screen snapshot.

I I have two PC, both running Ubuntu 11.10. They are running on the same LAN, both are connected via wireless. I usually connect them with the default running Remote desktop Viewer on PC1 and Desktop Sharing on PC2. The connection is so damn slow it is unusable.

I installed freenx-0.7.3-i486-1alien.tgz on the server (with Slack 12.1), all according to instructions. I installed the nomachine nxclient 3.4.0-7 on the client (with Slack 12.2). I ran setup and configured.

I am running Nomachine NX server on my Ubuntu 12.04, and I'm connecting from a Windows 7 machine using NX client.

When I try to start VirtualBox, I get a permission denied error. The same user that I use to connect to NX session can obviously run VirtualBox just fine.

How do I fix this?

On OpenSUSE 12.1, I would like to install and run the FreeNX Server.

I recently did clean installs of Fedora 17.

I then used the Fedora package manager to install the NX 3.5.0 nxclient, nxnode, and nxserver files from the nomachine website.
