After my Centos 6 server was powered down without a clean shutdown, I can't connect to the FreeNX service. I get errors like:
xrdb: No such file or directory
xrdb: Can't open display ':1001'
How can I fix this?
I am running a FreeNX server on Ubuntu 11.10 and am unable to do session shadowing. I get the authorization prompt, but the shadow client crashes after.
Upgrading from a OpenSUSE 12.1 installation with a working FreeNX server, I hit an issue with the FreeNX server on OpenSUSE 12.2, running Gnome 3.
Whenever I connect, I pass the dreaded connection phase (where I've hit most of my issues with FreeNX), and see the client prepare the display, and even see a bit of the display load.
I've been using FreeNX on my Ubuntu machine for many months and just yesterday I've begun having troubles using it. What happens is that the FreeNX client (which is on my Windows machine) would connect to my Ubuntu machine (both on the same LAN) and it will initialize and connect fine and I would get the FreeNX logo window showing up and it will drop me into my desktop session.
Hi all..I am trying to connect to my freenx server (i have set up freenx before with ssh public key auth + passwd auth). Anyways i am having a weird issue. I connect using opennx and get the following error dialog:The remote proxy closed the connection while negotiating the session.

Cross posted to superuser as this may be relevant there http://superuser.com/questions/389992/freenx-stopped-working-after-upgra....
I installed Ubuntu 11.04, installed FreeNX server and FreeNX client for Windows from http://www.nomachine.com/download-client-windows.php.
I have just moved from f16 to f17 and can't get freenx-server working with gnome3.
After successful authentication, just the desktop background comes up without menus or status bars.
Vain wrote:Hi,dig through “startxfce4”. Afaik, this is just a shell script, so you should be able to find out where “xrdb” is called.Could not find anything about xrdb in that shellscript, BUT, i changed my .xinitrc to start xfce4-session instead of startxfce4 and it worked.
