FreeNAS switching from FreeBSD to Linux!

It had always been based on FreeBSD; it's basically a simple interface for a minimalist FreeBSD install with a number of storage drivers and network protocols enabled. There have been Linux-based alternatives, like OpenFiler, but FreeNAS has always been the most popular "free" choice. Starting with version 0.8 FreeNAS will be based on Debian. (HowTos)
