hey I have an external drive that's messing up and missing free space.
in property's it reads total capacity as 931.5GB
and 72.0KB free space
but the total files in the drive only come to 442.2GB's worth of data
and I tried deleting a few things, then emptying the garbage bin
and no the free space stayed at 72.0KB
how much total space/storage does everyone have i only got 12.05gb seem a little low i know there some take away for the os but 4bg seem like its a little to much my gtab had 13.11 of total space/storage i just wanna make sure that normal and im not losing memory...thanks!
I recently tried installing a game onto my home directory, but it told me I didnt have enough free space. Knowing that I allocated a 215 gb partition for Ubuntu when I installed it, I went to check my total hard drive space. I found that I had almost 198 gb of free space.
Recently in the last day or so I have been getting a warning about my computer having a low amount of disk space available and what I can do to free up additional space. The only thing different that I've done is to try and use a Virtual Box to test out other Linux OS's. Is it possible that this low disk space warning be related to the VB and not to my Main computers disk space?
i am running into an space issue on my 64 bit Ubuntu running on Virtual machine even though the space available is 40 GB and total file system usage is 9.5 GB it shows me total usage 37 GB where is my remaining space being used ?
Moving from FC17 to FC18 I decided to free some space (taken from swap and the root partition).
Both partitions were created in an extended partition, ending up with 2GB of free space in the begining of the Extd. partition and additional 1.6GB in the end.
There are other partitions (active and used by linux) in between, home, root, etc.
Hello! I am having an issue with free space. I am currently using an older model dell with an 80GB HDD. I have confirmed this with gparted but when I open up the file manager it says I only have 23 GiB in free space available. I need access to much more free space than that. Any help?
Hi, although I don't consider my self an absolute beginner, I feel like this question belongs here :) Basically, if you go to System Monitor > File Systems, and you look at your EXT4 Ubuntu partition, something looks wrong to me....
Why is "Free Space" 11.3GB but "Available Space" is 10.3GB?
