I am an Ubuntu-newbie and just started working with Ubuntu (version 12.04 LTS) a couple of days ago. I wanted to add a launcher icon to desktop for launching an application I previously installed.
My system (SuSE 11.2) just did an update today (8/27/10 using the updater applet) and now when I visit some pages that have java, I get this error message: "icedteanp plugin error: failed to run /etc/alternatives/../bin/java
rerun "firefox -g" in a terminal window"
Then the page loads.
