Foxtel makes it easy to be lazy

With Foxtel already Australia’s premier pay TV service, available on its own iQ2 boxes and the Xbox 360, Foxtel’s 50% owner is set to unveil Foxtel on its own T-Box from Sunday the 27th of June.

The ACCC has given the go-ahead to Foxtel's planned acquisition of Austar, but has imposed restrictions tighter than those proposed by Foxtel in the undertaking it submitted in March in a bid to get the deal over the line.

Netcomm has entered into a supply agreement with Foxtel for Foxtel’s subcsribers to “be among the first to benefit” from NetComm’s 200Mbps Powerline Adapters. These let consumers connect their Foxtel iQ boxes to their network for video on demand services, without installing additional cables, thanks to Netcomm’s 200Mbps powerline technology.

In another case of Android playing catchup to Apple, Foxtel has now released its Foxtel TV Guide to the Android Market.

Well, we knew Optus chief executive Paul O'Sullivan's fighting words about the Foxtel/Austar merger wouldn't go down well in some quarters, but we didn't quite expect this epic spray from Foxtel chief Kim Williams.

In a seemingly inevitable move, the Foxtel TV Guide application is now available on Apple's iPad. The Foxtel TV Guide application is free, and although it won't let you watch shows it's still alot of fun.

The multi-billion dollar merger of Foxtel and Austar has taken another step forward, with the pair confirming yesterday that definitive agreements had been signed which will see Foxtel buy all of the issued shares in its fellow pay TV operator.
